Lovely Sanya

We’re in Sanya on China’s Hainan island, also known as “Little Hawaii.” It’s quite picturesque here…plam trees, beaches, the South China Sea. We did some touristy stuff like an underwater boat trip to the coral reefs, a trip to a mountain with butterflies, and some local shopping. What’s fascinating to me is who is in Sanya…the locals making money selling jewelry, seashells and driving taxis/vans, very wealthly Chinese (about 60% of the tourists here, and I’ve only met Chinese from Beijing and Shanghai), and Russians (about 40% of the tourists here). In fact, everything is written in Chinese and Russian.
