One Night in Bangkok

Right now I am basking in the afterglow of a great day in Bangkok which even the pessimism I feel as I am listening to Obama’s State of the Union cannot temper.  I am smitten! We are staying right on the river in the old city, the Phra Nakhon District. This morning we went to the Grand Palace, took in lunch at a local eatery (fresh Lime shake – yum!), came home for nap, chartered a long boat for a river cruise which mostly took us through actual neighborhoods on the river, shopped around, and then ate dinner before returning to the hotel to put the kids down to bed.
