It’s happy & cold in GZ

I tried “Orange Peel Tea” last night at a Shanghai-style restaurant last night. It was excellent, with orange blossoms, orange peels and black tea. I also like the stir-fried rice cakes drizzled in a soy sauce gravy with onions, carrots and soybeans.

During this New Year period, GZ has been quiet, friendly, and not pushy, with smiling families everywhere. But, by Chinese standards, the city is empty and deserted. Though the winter weather here (low 40s) makes it feel like a quiet winter holiday in the States.
