Here comes the sun.

Three days in and the semester is shaping up to be wildly different from the last. Last semester we were overwhelmed with the process of settling in – cultural disjunctures, paperwork, making schooling choices for the children, figuring out where to buy groceries, etc. This semester we have both children settled and happy in kindergarten (knock on wood), are comfortable with our setting and the language (enough to get by, anyway), have some Chinese friends, and each have a host of teaching and research commitments  to keep us engaged here in Guangzhou and back home.

We are coming up on the 100 day mark and yet we are just hitting our stride!
