Why I look forward to returning to Vermont

The text of the email sent today from my Dean to the Vermont Law School community:

“All classes will be canceled today for thirty-five minutes promptly at 9:45 to allow all faculty, students and staff to view the end of the Bethel to Royalton annual kayak race.”

I’m teaching Natural Resources Law in the Fall, and I’ve already decided that on the first day of class we’re all going to leave the building for 10 minutes, and just look around to see the White River, the blue sky, and the Green Mountains. Best to start with appreciating the natural resources that we’re trying to protect.

UPDATE to my earlier post: Apparently as a April Fool’s Day Joke, the creators of the Wii’s Home Brew Channel had the machine say "Repairing…Do Not Turn Off Power" on April 1. By pressing the "A" button it immediately worked fine. Joke’s on us
