More on the program subsidizing Chinese teachers in US Schools

There is a NYtimes article discussing the experiences of a couple of Chinese teachers (from China) who are teaching in the US under the program I am hoping to bring to Montpelier. Here’s the link: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/10/education/10teacher.html

I would love some help with legwork on applying for this – beginning over the summer.

Get in touch with me when you get back and I think I’ll have time/energy/attention by then to help out in some way. Also, I’m talking more with some other parents who are interested in developing some sort of a playgroup or informal class for toddlers in Chinese. Details as they emerge.

Andrea, Suddenly I’m thinking that maybe I could convince Dan we should host a Chinese teacher to live in our home for a year. Or are you considering your family’s house for hosting? It must be wild even just imagining being in your Montpelier digs again. Janna

Definitely not considering hosting – we don’t have an extra bedroom. It would be great to have you folks host – provided we get the program up and running.
