This will be my final post on the Vermont2China blog. I have very much enjoyed posting with Andrea, and sharing our cultural experiences and my thoughts on environmental law and policy.
Our trip to China changed me in so many ways and so significantly, and the recent death, only days after our return home, of my dear friend and next-door neighbor Dave Blumenthal has continued this trend and has changed my outlook and take on life immeasurably. Today was his memorial service. Dave was a great friend, an artist, an outdoorsmen, a brewer of beer, a craftsman, a hiker, an artist, an amazing dad, and so much more. He was honest, geeky, friendly, and skilled. He made you want to be a better person. He will be dearly missed. I am personally devastated by this loss, and will endeavor to live my life in a way that would have made Dave proud. I only wish I could have known him for longer.
