Morning Exercises, June 2009

On international children’s day, the kindergarten held an open house for the parents. This provided me with an opportunity to film the morning exercise routine. I am a huge fan of morning exercises – a good 15 minutes of rhythm, coordination, and movement before kids head up to breakfast and lessons. FYI – the breaks are a result of the file sizes and the second part is not particularly interesting although it does show the agility component of the exercises as well as the way the two-year old class stands by to watch.  While it seems to me that the exercise routine provides an example of how much the kindergarten expected from the 4- and 5-year-olds in terms of focus and participation, it hints at the way in which 2- and 3-year-olds are still considered babies.

The dancing on the UTube was precious. Lauretta certainly has the most rhythm. We enjoyed so much. Thank you. Pepepe and Grammy
